Moong Dal Pakora | मकर संक्रान्ति स्पेशल – मूंग दाल के मंगोडे । Moong dal bhajiya Recipe

 

Moong Dal is an ingredient which is easily available in most of the house of India. It is filled with nutrients and crispier to eat. Serving it along with tea, coriander dip or tomato sauce makes it scrumptious to eat. 

Here is a step by step recipe to make Moong Dal Pakora along with pictures. This recipe will help you to make it easily without facing any issue. 

Direction:

Getting Ready:

Soak a cup of Moong Dal in lukewarm water for 2 hours. 

Rub it between your palms to separate its peels from it. 

Wash it with water and grind it in the grinder. 

Take 2 raw potatoes, peel and chop them into bite-sized pieces. 

Add 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of salt, ½ tsp of chilli flakes, 3 to 4 finely chopped green chillies, grated 1-inch ginger julienne to it.

Add 1 pinch of asafoetida, 3 to 4 tbsp finely chopped green coriander to it and mix them well.

Preheat oil to fry Mangode, add Mangode to fry in the heated oil.

Flip and fry them till they appear golden brown in colour. 

Drain out the fried Mangode and fry all the Mangode likewise. 

Suggestions

  • If you will soak Dal in the lukewarm water then, it expands in the period of 2 hours. You can also soak it overnight in the water.
  • You can also use washed dal for Mangode.
  • You can make Mangode without potato.
  • You can use the ginger paste instead of grated ginger.

Ingredients
  • Moong Dal - 1 cup (soaked)
  • Potatoes - 2 (peeled and chopped)
  • Coriander Leaves - 3 to 4 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Salt - 1 tsp (or to taste)
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli Flakes - ½ tsp
  • Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  • Green Chilli - 3 to 4 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger - 1 inch (grated)
Instructions
  1. - Take 1 cup of Moong Dal, soak it for 2 hours in the lukewarm water.
  2. - Rub it between your palms to separate its peels from it.
  3. - Wash it with water and grind it in the grinder.
  4. - Take 2 raw potatoes, peel and chop them into the bite-size pieces.
  5. - Add 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, a ½ teaspoon of chilli flakes, 3 to 4 finely chopped green chillies, grated 1-inch ginger julienne to it.
  6. - Add 1 pinch of asafoetida, 3 to 4 tbsp finely chopped green coriander to it and mix them well.
  7. - Preheat oil to fry Mangode, add Mangode to fry in the heated oil.
  8. - Flip and fry them till they appear golden brown in colour.
  9. - Drain out the fried mangode and fry all the mangode likewise.
  10. Serving
  11. - Serve Mangodes with green coriander dip.
