Mango Falooda & Strawberry Falooda

Falooda is a sweet dish which is perfect to beat the heat in this hot weather of summer. Falooda is a traditional dish of India and popular within many parts of India. It is available in many flavours, we are going to introduce you to some of its flavours through this recipe.

Here is a step by step easy recipe with pictures to make Falooda, a visual representation will make it easier for you to understand the recipe easily. It is natural and perfect to consume during the summers. It consumes a lesser amount of time.

Direction:

Getting Ready:

Soak 2 tsp of basil seeds in a ½ cup of water for 15 to 20 minutes.

For Sev

Add some water to a ½ cup of arrowroot and dissolve its lumps.

After dissolving the lumps, add a ½ cup of water to it and stir well.

Preheat a pan, add the mixture to it and cook until it reaches to its thicker consistency on low flame.

After cooking it, take a Sev maker and assemble the finer sized hole plate on it.

Fill the cooked mixture in the machine and close its lid

Take a bowl filled with chilled water and some ice cubes. Keep it aside to set for a while to set.

For the pink colour Sev

Ground a beetroot and filter its juice.

Mix it with a ½ cup of arrowroot and cook it likewise.

After cooking it, fill it in the Sev maker and make the Sev using it in the chilled water. Keep it aside to set for a while.

For Mango Falooda

Add 2 to 3 tsp of mango pulp in a glass along with 2 tsp of soaked basil seeds.

Add some cold milk, Falooda Sev and 2 to 3 tsp of rose syrup to it.

Add some pieces of mango Kulfi, finely chopped mangoes and spread some rose syrup over it.

Garnish with finely chopped dry fruits and the mango Falooda is ready to be served.

For strawberry Falooda

Add 2 to 3 tsp of strawberry paste in a glass with 2 to 3 tsp of soaked basil seeds, 2 to 3 tbsp of cold milk and some pink Sev.

Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of rose syrup, some pieces of strawberry Kulfi to it.

Garnish with some finely chopped dry fruits and some rose syrup. The strawberry Falooda is ready to be served.  

For regular Falooda

Add some cold milk in a glass along with 2 to 3 tsp of basil seeds, some Sev, 2 to 3 tsp of rose syrup, some slices of Kulfi and garnish it with dry fruits.

 

The regular Falooda is ready to be served.

Suggestions

  • You can use cornflour instead of arrowroot.
  • You can use food color for making the coloured Sev.
  • You can use ice cream instead of Kulfi

Ingredients
  • Sabja (Basil) seeds - 2 tsp
  • Arrowroot - 1 tsp
  • Mango pulp - 2 to 3 tsp
  • Strawberry pulp - 2 to 3 tsp
  • Milk - ½ cup
  • Rose syrup - ½ cup
  • Mango Kulfi
  • Mango pieces (finely chopped)
  • Strawberry Kulfi
  • Strawberry pieces
  • Dry fruits - for garnishing
Instructions
  1. - Take 2 teaspoons of basil seeds, soak it in a ½ cup of water for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. For the Sev
  3. - Take a ½ cup of arrowroot in a bowl, add some water to it and stir until its lumps dissolve.
  4. - After dissolving the lumps, add a ½ cup of water to it and stir well.
  5. - Preheat a pan, add the mixture in it and cook while continuously stirring it on low flame.
  6. - Cook until it reaches to its thicker consistency and become transparent.
  7. - After cooking it, take a Sev maker and assemble the finer sized hole plate on it.
  8. - Fill the cooked mixture in the machine and close its lid.
  9. - Take a bowl filled with chilled water and some ice cubes.
  10. - Remove the ice cube from it and make the Sev in water using the machine.
  11. - Keep it aside to set for a while.
  12. For the pink color Sev
  13. - Take a beetroot, ground it and filter its juice.
  14. - Take a ½ cup of arrowroot, add the beetroot extracted water to it.
  15. - Stir to mix it well and cook it likewise.
  16. - After cooking it, fill it in the Sev maker and make the Sev using it in the chilled water.
  17. - After making the Sev, keep it aside to set.
  18. Serving
  19. For Mango Falooda
  20. - Take a glass and add 2 to 3 teaspoons of mango pulp to it followed by 2 teaspoons of basil seeds too.
  21. - Add some cold milk, Falooda Sev and 2 to 3 teaspoons of rose syrup to it.
  22. - Add some pieces of Mango Kulfi, finely chopped mango and spread some rose syrup to it.
  23. - Garnish with finely chopped dry fruits and the Mango Falooda is ready to be served.
  24. For strawberry Falooda
  25. - Take a glass, add 2 to 3 teaspoons of strawberry paste in it.
  26. - Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of soaked basil seeds, 2 to 3 tablespoons of cold milk followed by pink Falooda.
  27. - Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of rose syrup, some pieces of strawberry Kulfi to it.
  28. - Garnish with some finely chopped dry fruits and some rose syrup.
  29. - The strawberry Falooda is ready to be served.
  30. For regular Falooda
  31. - Take a glass, add some cold milk to it.
  32. - Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of basil seeds, some Falooda Sev, 2 to 3 teaspoons of rose syrup, some pieces of Kulfi and garnish with dry fruits.
  33. - The regular Falooda is ready to be served.
