Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe – Easy Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe

Buttermilk biscuits are classic biscuits you couldn’t say no to. These authentic biscuits are made of butter, refined flour and various other ingredients.  These can be served to guests or can be simply enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee. These super delicious Buttermilk biscuits just melt in mouth to give you an extra buttery flavor that stays for long.

Getting ready:

Making:

Take refined flour in a bowl and add baking soda, baking powder and sugar in it. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Add butter in the refined flour mixture and mix it properly with hand until the mixture turns even. Make sure that there is small chunks of butter in the mixture.

Now add butter milk into the refined flour mixture and mix everything nicely. Don’t knead the dough, just bind everything together. Dough for making biscuits is ready.

Dust the chopping board or kitchen platform with some flour and put the dough on it. Shape the dough in circular form then flatten it by pressing with fingers into ½ to ¾ inch thick dough.

Then take a hexagonal cutter, small bowl or small glass to cut the dough. Place the cutter on the dough and press firmly then take out the biscuit and place it on the baking tray. Likewise, prepare the rest of the biscuits and place them on the tray maintaining some distance between the biscuits.

Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a bowl and grease the biscuits with it using a brush. Place the tray inside the preheated oven on middle rack and bake the biscuits for 15 to 20 minutes on 180 degree centigrade.

15 minutes later, take out the tray. Biscuits will turn golden brown, transfer them on wire rack and allow them to cool down. Buttermilk biscuits are now ready.

Serve these crisp and mouth-drooling buttermilk biscuits along with piping hot cup of tea or coffee or have them as it is.

Suggestions

  • If you are using unsalted butter then add ½ tsp salt in the flour.
  • Baking time varies from oven to oven. So, firstly bake the biscuits for 10 minutes and then keep baking them for few minutes while checking in-between until the biscuits are baked aptly.
