Jau Dalia Pulao Recipe

Jau Dalia Pulao, also known as Barley pulao, is an enjoyable and healthy one-pot recipe.
Ingredients
  • Barley Broken Wheat - ½ Cup (90 grams)
  • Desi Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp
  • Peas - ½ Cup
  • Carrot - ¼ Cup, chopped
  • Cauliflower - ¼ Cup, chopped
  • Capsicum - ¼ Cup, chopped
  • Ginger - 1 tsp, grated
  • Green Chilli - 1, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 1, chopped
  • Salt - ½ tsp
Instructions
  1. Dry roast ½ cup of Jau Daliya over medium flame till its color changes and becomes fragrant.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of ghee to the cooker.
  3. Add ½ tsp of cumin seeds to the oil and roast lightly.
  4. Add ½ cup of peas, ¼ cup of chopped carrots, ¼ cup of chopped cauliflower, and ¼ cup of chopped capsicum to the cooker.
  5. Add 1 tsp of grated ginger, 1-finely chopped green chili to the cooker, and sauté everything lightly.
  6. Add roasted Jau Dalia and saute for another ½ minutes.
  7. Add 1-chopped tomato, 1.5 cups of water, ½ tsp of salt into the cooker and pressure cook for a whistle.
  8. Turn off the heat and wait for the cooker's pressure to clear.
  9. Open the lid and leave the pulao partially covered for 10 minutes.
  10. Jau Dalia Pulao is ready to be served.
