Put the thick pieces of mangoes in a jar. Add 3 tbsp sugar, 400 ml milk to it to prepare a thick shake. Blend it well.mango mastani

Getting ready :

Wash and peel the ripe mangoes and take out the pulp. Cut them into small pieces.

Take a vessel, place the mangoes in it to boil them. Add 1 cup water to boil the mangoes. Turn on the flame. Boil the mangoes till the mangoes turn soft. Check the mangoes after 5 minutes.

Press the mangoes to check if soft. We have boiled the mangoes for 10 minutes.

Add 2.5 cup (500 grams)  sugar to it. Add 1 cup water too so that the sugar dissolves well. Mix it well and cook until the sugar dissolves. Check it after a while. Once the sugar dissolves, turn of the flame. Let it cool a bit.

When the mangoes cool a bit, strain the mangoes in a big bowl. Let it cool a bit more. Once cool place the pulp in the mixer jar. Put the strained juice too. Grind the pulp to make a fine paste.

Place the paste in the bowl to mix it with the strained juice. Mix it well. Strain it once again so that the fine fibers strain out and that it mixes well too.

Discard the extra fibers of mango in the strainer. Add 2 to 2.5 liters of water to it. Mix it well. Then place in the jar of water.

Turmeric Latte – Haldi ka Milk – Golden Drink Turmeric

Turmeric Latte will add warmth to your winters. A warm cup of Golden drink turmeric will not only keep you warm but is also good for digestion. This healthy and spiced Turmeric latte when garnished with cinnamon powder and crushed nutmeg  tastes super delicious. This Golden drink sweetened with honey can be served to anyone be it kids or adults.

Getting ready:

For making turmeric latte we have taken 200 grams raw turmeric which can be brought from market very easily in winters. Peel and grind the turmeric for making the latte. We also have 500 ml cow’s milk. Haldi ka doodh

Making:

Pour the milk in a vessel and place it on flame to heat.Haldi ka doodh

Wear gloves prior cutting the turmeric else your hands can turn yellow. Scrap off the skin on turmeric like we peel the ginger. Place it aside and likewise scrap rest of the turmeric chunks as well.haldi ka doodh

Chop them down in small chunks as we need to grind them finely in a mixer jar.haldi ka doodh

Place the chunks in a mixer jar and grind them really finely. Stir after a while as it gets on the edges of the mixer jar. After finely grinding the turmeric, transfer it to a bowl.haldi ka doodh

When the milk starts simmering, add 1 tsp turmeric paste to it. Let it simmer for a while.haldi ka doodh

Then add a pinch of cardamom powder and let it simmer for 2 more minutes. After two minutes, turn off the flame. It is now done and ready. Sieve the milk through a strainer.haldi ka doodh

Add 2 tsp honey to this milk. Mix the honey well. Whisk the milk like this to make some foam.haldi ka doodh

Serving:

Serve the milk and garnish with some cinnamon powder. This also enhances the taste. Also crush some nutmeg over the milk. Here turmeric latte is ready to serve. Delicious and super healthy turmeric latte is ready.haldi ka doodh

Suggestions:

  • We have used cow’s milk for making turmeric latte but you can also almond milk coconut milk or Soya milk or any other milk.
  • You can have it as it is without any sweet or mix some sugar to the milk while simmering.
  • You can also use turmeric powder but using raw turmeric is more beneficial as compared to powdered turmeric.
  • Peel, cut and grind one chunk of turmeric and add it to milk directly after finely grating it.
  • Freeze the peeled and ground turmeric in ice cube trays in deep freezer for later use. Whenever to need to prepare the turmeric latter, just mix this ice cube and serve.
