    Dahi wale aloo recipe – Dahiwale Aloo ki Subzi

    Aloo rassa or potatoes in curd gravy is a devouring and super yummy preparation with potatoes after masala aloo. This recipe is prepared with boiled potatoes and curd and tastes super scrumptious. We often make masala aloo with pooris for breakfast or brunch but after trying this recipe of Aloo rassa, you will include this dish in your menu for sure.     Directions

    Getting ready:

    1. Pressure cook the potatoes.

    2. Now when the potatoes are cooked through, peel them.

    3. Now heat 2 tbsp oil in and pan and add asafoetida and cumin seeds to it.

    4. When the seeds splutter add coriander powder, turmeric powder and finely chopped green chilies to it.

    5. Saute the masala for a while and then roughly crumble the potatoes and mix to the masala.

    6. Stir and keep stirring until the potatoes are coated well with the spices. Keep mixing for up to 1 to 2 minutes

    7. Now add 1.5 cups of water to the aloo mixture.

    8. Cover the pan and let it simmer for few minutes.

    9. After that, add red chilly powder as well. Mix it.

    10. After you see gentle boil in the gravy, add whisked curd to it and stir constantly.

    11. When the gravy simmers again, add salt and let it cook for 3 to 4 more minutes.

    12. Sabzi is ready now mix some chopped green coriander to it.

    13. Transfer dahi aloo to a serving bowl.

    • When the gravy starts simmering, add curd to it in small parts and keep stirring constantly.
    • Keep the curd outside for half an hour prior before bringing it in use. This brings the curd to normal temperature if placed in refrigerator. Then whisk the curd well and use.
