Mushroom bonda’s, a crispy and delicious snack, unique and best quality is that they are not at all time consuming. While you are preparing tea on one side, mushroom bonda’s can be easily prepared other side and in same duration. If you have never tried making mushroom bonda then this easy recipe is perfect for you. This recipe only calls for a gram flour-cornflour batter to dip the mushroom chunks and bread crumbs to coat later and then simply deep fry them until crispy and golden brown in color.

Directions

Getting ready:

Clean the mushrooms with a wet cloth and slice them in two equal halves.

Take wheat flour and gram flour in a mixing bowl and add water in small portions.

Stir and continue stirring until all lumps dissolve and you get smooth batter. Add more water to the batter until you get a little thick consistency.

Now add ginger paste, chopped green coriander, salt and red chilly powder. Mix everything really well. Batter is ready.

Now dip one mushroom chunk in gram flour batter.

Then coat it nicely with bread crumbs and place it on a plate. Similarly coat all the mushrooms chunks and place them on a plate.

Heat enough oil in a wok or pan. Gently drop the coated mushrooms in hot oil and deep fry until golden brown in color.

Drain out the fried mushrooms on kitchen paper towels to remove excess oil. Mushroom bonda is ready to serve.

Serve these delectable and spicy mushroom bonda steaming hot with any chutney or dip like green coriander chutney or tomato sauce.

Suggestions:

  • Avoid deep frying the mushrooms for too long duration as they tend to lose their mixture in oil. Just fry them until they get crispy on the surface.
  • If you fry the bondas on medium flame then they will absorb oil.
    Fry these bonda’s on medium and high flame and transfer them out in a plate covered with kitchen paper towels.

  • Mushroom - 7
  • Bread crumbs - 1 slice (ground)
  • Gram flour - 2 tbsp
  • Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilly powder - less then ¼ tsp (can also use black pepper instead of red chilly)
