Dharwad Peda is a delicacy from the state of Karnataka. This sweet preparation requires paneer, mawa, milk, and sugar. Dharwad pedas are rolled over sugar powder to give them an attractive and crispy texture. These pedas are quite easy to prepare, plus they get ready in no time.
Follow the directions below along with the images to prepare delicious Dharwad Pedas.
Directions:
1. Grate ½ cup of fresh paneer and sauté it over medium heat.
2. Add 1 tsp of ghee to the pan and sauté the paneer for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add ½ cup of sugar to the pan and sauté till the sugar dissolves and the paneer color changes.
4. Transfer paneer mixture to a bowl and allow it to cool.
5. Add 1 tsp of ghee to the pan and sauté Mawa over low-medium heat.
6. Sauté mawa for 10 minutes or till light brown.
7. Blend the sautéd paneer into a fine powder.
8. Add ⅛ cup of milk to the mixture and finely blend again.
9. Add paneer mixture to the mawa and saute the mixture over low-medium heat till it gets dry.
10. Add ½ tsp of cardamom powder to the mixture and mix well.
11. Take the mixture out in a bowl and allow it to cool slightly.
12. Take a little mixture out and give it a peda-shape.
