Bajra Masala Poori Recipe

Bajra Masala Poori is a crispy and crunchy texture puffed bread prepared with Bajra flour, boiled potatoes, and spices. Bajra Masala poori is a winter-special recipe from the North Indian regions. Prepare bajra masala poori and serve it with aloo masala, aloo tomato, aloo matar, or any sabzi of your liking.

Follow the directions along with the images to prepare delicious and crunchy Bajra Masala poori.

Direction:

1. Take 3-boiled potatoes and grate them.

2. Take 1 cup of bajra flour and add grated potatoes to it.

3. Add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, and 1/2 tsp carom seeds to the flour.

4. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp sesame seeds, 2-chopped chilis, 1/2 tsp of chili flakes, and 1 tsp of grated ginger.

5. Add 2-3 tsp of coriander leaves and mix well.

6. Pour water gradually and prepare a soft dough.

7. Cover the dough and keep aside for 15 minutes to set.

8. Apply little oil to your hands and knead the dough for a few minutes.

9. Divide the dough into small balls and grease the rolling board and pin.

10. Roll the dough balls into a slightly thick poori.

11. Heat the oil in the Kadai/wok for frying. Keep the flame medium.

12. Carefully lift and slide the poori in the oil.

13. Turn the poori around when fried from below.

14. Fry the poori till golden brown from both sides.

15. Bajra Masala poori is ready to be served.

  • Pearl Millets Flour (Bajra Flour) - 1 Cup (150 grams)
  • Potato - 3, boiled (200 grams)
  • Salt - ½ tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp
  • Carom Seeds - ½ tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
  • Sesame Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Green Chilli - 2, finely chopped
  • Red Chilli Flakes - ½ tsp
  • Ginger - 1 tsp, grated
  • Coriander Leaves - 2-3 tbsp
  • and
  • Oil for Frying
