Rice kheer is like a staple dessert for every festival and celebration. To prepare rice kheer, cook rice in milk, sweeten it with sugar, add cardamom powder as a flavor enhancer, and finally garnish with dry fruits. Follow the directions below to prepare delicious rice kheer.
Directions:
1. Bring 1-liter milk to a boil and start stirring occasionally.
2. Add ¼ cup of soaked rice to the milk.
3. Stir the kheer after every 1-2 minutes until it becomes thicker.
4. After 15 minutes, add 2 tsp chopped coconut, 2 tbsp almonds, 2 tsp raisins to the kheer, and mix well.
5. After cooking for 35 minutes, add ¼ tsp cardamom powder, ¼ cup sugar to the kheer, and mix well.
6. Cover the pot and turn off the flame. Leave the kheer for 5 minutes.
7. After 5 mins, garnish the kheer with chopped almonds.
