Sama Rice Vada Recipe For Fasting

Here, follow the directions to prepare delicious and crispy sama rice vada for fasting.

Directions:

1. Wash ½ cup of Samvat rice 3 times.

2. Blend the rice with little-little curd till you blend it with a whole 1/2 cup of curd.

3. Add the prepared mixture to the pan and add 3/4 cup of water to it.

4. Add 1/2 tsp rock salt, 2finely chopped green chili, 1/2 tsp grated ginger, 1/4 tsp crushed black pepper, 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, and mix well.

5. Cook the mixture over high heat while stirring till it thickens.

6. Once the mixture attains dough-like consistency, add 2 tbsp of chopped green coriander and mix well.

7. Transfer the dough to another plate and allow it to cool.

8. Apply ghee to your palm and knead the mixture into a dough.

9. Mix 2-3 tbsp of grated carrot, a little salt, green chili with the dough to prepare vegetable vada. (optional)

10. Take a portion of dough and roll it between your palms.

11. Flatten it like a peda, make a hole at the center, and give it a vada shape.

12. Heat the oil in the Kadai for frying vadas.

13. Drop the vadas in the pan for frying and fry them for 2 minutes without turning.

14. Turn them upside down when lightly-fried.

15. Fry the vada from both sides till golden brown. Fry all the vada similarly; each batch will take 7-8 minutes.

16. Samak rice Vadas are ready to be served.
