Gulab Jamun is a most loved sweet of India, It is served during so many occasions and mostly it is served hot during the Indian wedding. It is dipped in sugar syrup and sometimes even stuffed with dry fruits. It has its various varieties which are delicious to eat. 

Here is step by step easy recipe to make Gulab Jamun instantly and easily. This recipe will help you to make it quickly and it will also explain you the usage of ready-mix Gulab Jamun mixture.

Getting Ready:

For the dough

Pour a packet of ready-mix Gulab Jamun mixture in a bowl. 

Add less than a ½ cup water to it and stir for mixing it. 

Apply some ghee on your palms and knead the smoother dough.

After kneading the dough, cover and keep it aside for 10 minutes. 

For sugar syrup

Cook 3 cups of water with 3 cups of sugar until sugar dissolves in the water. 

Stir it in the intervals and its texture should be slightly sticky.

Add 4 crushed green cardamoms and leave the sugar syrup for 2 to 3 minutes to boil.

The sugar syrup will be cooked after 3 minutes. 

For gulab jamun 

Melt clarified butter in a wok. 

Knead the dough while applying some clarified butter to your palms. 

Divide it into the smaller sized dough lumps. 

Roll the dough lump into a smooth round ball there shouldn’t be any cracks in it.

The moderately heated oil is required to fry the gulab jamuns.

Add the gulab jamuns to fry on low flame.  

Flip them once they have fried from the bottom. 

Stir the clarified butter to rotate the gulab jamun and fry until they are golden brown.

Drain them out once they are golden brown from all the corners.

Add the Gulab jamuns in the warm sugar syrup.

Dip the gulab jamuns properly in the sugar syrup for 4 hours.

After 4 hours, gulab jamuns have absorbed the sugar syrup and they are ready to be served.

Suggestions

1- Threaded sugar syrup isn’t required for this recipe. 

2- We took ghee to fry the gulab jamuns but, you can use the refined oil also.

3- You can increase and decrease the quantity of gulab jamun according to your choice.

4- Never place the ladle directly over the gulab jamuns.

Ingredients
  • Ready-mix gulab jamun - 1 packet (175 gms)
  • Sugar - 3 cups (800 gms)
  • Green cardamoms powder - 4
  • Ghee - for frying
Instructions
  1. For the dough
  2. - Take 1 packet of the ready-mix gulab jamun mixture and pour it in a bowl.
  3. - Add some less than ½ cup water in it and mix
  4. - Apply some ghee on your palms and knead the smoother dough.
  5. - Cover and keep it aside for 10 minutes
  6. For sugar syrup
  7. - Add 3 cups of sugar, 3 cups of water and cook until sugar dissolves in it.
  8. - Stir it in the intervals and its consistency should be slightly sticky.
  9. - Add 4 crushed green cardamoms and leave the sugar syrup for 2 to 3 minutes to boil.
  10. - After, 3 minutes the sugar syrup has cooked.
  11. For gulab jamun
  12. - Melt ghee in a wok.
  13. - Apply some ghee on your palms and again, knead the dough.
  14. - Divide it into the smaller sized dough lumps.
  15. - Grease your hands with ghee, take a dough lump and roll it.
  16. - Prepare a smooth round ball there shouldn't be any cracks in it.
  17. - Prepare the balls and place them on the plate.
  18. - Put a piece of some dough in the heated ghee to check its temperature.
  19. - The moderately heated oil is required to fry the gulab jamuns.
  20. - Add the gulab jamuns to fry on the low flame.
  21. - Flip them once they have fried from the bottom.
  22. - Stir the ghee to rotate the gulab jamun and fry until they are golden brown.
  23. - Now, we can stir them directly using the ladle.
  24. - Drain them out once they are golden brown from all the corners.
  25. - Add the Gulab jamuns in the warm sugar syrup.
  26. - It takes 8-9 minutes to fry one round of gulab jamuns
  27. - Dip the gulab jamuns properly in the sugar syrup for 4 hours.
  28. - The gulab jamuns have absorbed the sugar syrup and they are ready to be served.
