Sattu is a dish which is a perfect dish for summers. It is edible and drinkable at the same time. Sattu helps to beat the heat through its variety of dishes. This recipe will give you an insight into the varieties of Sattu.

Here is a step by step easy recipe with pictures to make the varieties of Sattu and its dishes. Here we are going to tell you how to make 3 varieties of Sattu and dishes made out of them. You can eat and drink it too.

Getting Ready:

Chickpea Sattu

Peel 2 cups of roasted chickpeas and bounce them on a plate to separate its peels.

Grind them in a grinder jar for the powder and the chickpea Sattu is ready.

To make its sweet syrup, take a 1/2 cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it.

Dissolve its lumps and add 2 to 3 tsp of sugar powder to it.

Add a pinch of black salt to it, lime juice of half a lemon and 1.5 cups of water to it.

The sweet syrup of chickpea Sattu is ready to be served.

To make its spicy syrup, take a 1/2 cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it.

Add a ¼ tsp of salt, a ¼ tsp of black salt, a 1/4 tsp of cumin powder, finely chopped green chillies to it.

Add a 1/2 lemon juice, a 1.5 cups water to it, some broken mint leaves and it is ready to be served.

Barley Sattu

Roast a cup of barley on medium flame and grind it finely in a jar.

Filter to separate its fibre and the barley Sattu is ready.

To make barley Sattu sweet syrup, take a 1/2 cup of barley Sattu and add 2 tsp of sugar to it.

Add a pinch of salt, lime juice of 1/2 a lemon to it and mix well. The sweet syrup of barley Sattu is ready to be served.

To make its salty or spicy Sattu syrup, prepare it likewise according to salty syrup of chickpea Sattu.

Wheat Sattu

Grind a cup of roasted of wheat porridge, filter its fibre using a strainer and the wheat Sattu is ready.

To make it’s wheat Sattu sweet syrup, take a 1/2 cup of wheat Sattu and add 2 to 3 tsp of sugar powder to it.

Extract the juice of 1/2 a lemon, add a pinch of black salt and some water to it. The sweet syrup of wheat Sattu is ready to serve.

To make its salty syrup, prepare its likewise according to salty syrup of chickpea Sattu.

You can store ground Sattu in an airtight container and consume for 2 months. You can serve it after adding some ice cubes too. You can have it yourself or you can serve it to elderly people and kids too.

Ingredients
  • Chickpeas - 2 cups
  • Barley - 1 cup
  • Wheat Daliya - 1 cup
  • Sugar powder - ½ cup
  • Black salt - ½ tsp
  • Lemon - 2 to 3
  • Salt - ¼ tsp
  • Cumin powder - ¼ tsp
  • Green chilli (finely chopped) - 1
  • Mint leaves
Instructions
  1. Chickpea Sattu and its drinks
  2. - Take 2 cups of roasted chickpea and peel it.
  3. - After peeling it, lift some chickpea and mash them.
  4. - After mashing them, bounce them on a plate to separate the peels.
  5. - After separating peels, add them in a grinder jar and grind them finely.
  6. - After grinding them, filter them and the chickpea Sattu is ready.
  7. - To make its edible Sattu, take a ½ cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it for dissolving its lumps.
  8. - After dissolving its lumps, add 2 teaspoons of sugar powder to it.
  9. - Stir to mix it well and after mixing it well, the edible Sattu is ready to be served.
  10. - To make its sweet syrup, take a ½ cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it.
  11. - Dissolve its lumps and add 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar powder to it.
  12. - Add a pinch of black salt to it and a lime juice of a half lemon.
  13. - Add 1.5 cups of water to it and mix well.
  14. - The sweet syrup of chickpea Sattu is ready to be served.
  15. - To make its spicy syrup, take a ½ cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it.
  16. - Mix the Sattu well and add a ¼ teaspoon of salt, a ¼ teaspoon of black salt, a ¼ teaspoon of cumin powder, a finely chopped green chilli to it.
  17. - Add a ½ lemon juice, a 1.5 cups water to it and mix well.
  18. - Add some broken mint leaves to it and it is ready to be served.
  19. Barley Sattu
  20. - Take a cup of barley, roast them and roast while continuously stirring it on medium flame until its colour changes.
  21. - After roasting barley, there is a soothing fragrance form it.
  22. - The barley porridge has roasted.
  23. - After roasting the barley, add it in a grinder jar and grind it finely.
  24. - After grinding it, filter its fibre and the barley Sattu is ready.
  25. - To make barley Sattu sweet syrup, take a ½ cup of barley Sattu and add 2 teaspoons of sugar to it.
  26. - Add a pinch of salt, lime juice of ½ a lemon to it and mix well.
  27. - The sweet syrup of barley Sattu is ready to be served.
  28. - To make salty or spicy Sattu syrup, prepare it likewise according to salty syrup of chickpea Sattu.
  29. Wheat Sattu
  30. - Take a cup of roasted wheat porridge, add in a grinder jar and grind it finely.
  31. - Filter its fibres using a strainer and the wheat Sattu is ready.
  32. - To make it's wheat Sattu sweet syrup, take a ½ cup of wheat Sattu and add 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar powder to it.

  34. - Add some water to it and mix well.
  35. - The sweet syrup of wheat Sattu is ready to serve.
