We all often relish eating halwa be it sooji halwa, wheat flour halwa, carrot halwa, moong dal halwa and so on. This delicious and simple raw banana halwa is a great variation to the regular halwa.

Making halwa from raw bananas is very easy and it tastes delicious. You can serve this scrumptious halwa during fast or anytime you want. The banana halwa is even tastier and delectable when compared to regular wheat flour halwa or sooji halwa. I prepared banana halwa many time and everyone at my loved eating it. Don’t believe me? Directions

Getting ready:

1.  Remove the stalk from both ends of banana.


2.  Chop cashew and almonds into 6-7 pieces each.

Making:

3.  Pressure cook the bananas in 1 cup of water until a whistle. Turn off the flame and let the steam escape on its own.


4.  Take out the boiled bananas in a plate and let them cool down.


5.  Then peel the bananas, cut them in rough chunks.


6.  Mash them finely with a fork or spoon. You can also grate the boiled bananas.


7.  Heat 4-5 tbsp ghee in a wok and add mashed bananas to it. Stir continuously on low flame till there is change in color and you see ghee separating from the edges.


8.  Now add milk and sugar to it and mix well. Let it simmer.


9.  Add chopped cashews-almonds and raisins to the mixture. Cook until it gets thick consistency.


10.  Stir at regular intervals and cook till it gets thick and dense. Add cardamom powder and mix well.


11.  Halwa is now ready, turn off the flame and transfer it to a serving bowl.

Serving:

12.  Serve this amazing raw banana halwa garnished with some chopped dry fruits and drizzle 1-2 tbsp ghee warm and relish eating. This halwa keeps good for upto 3 days.

Suggestions

  • You can increase or decrease the amount of ghee and sugar as desired.
