    Here is a step by step recipe with pictures to make Vegetarian Shami kebab. Serve it steaming hot with curd, green coriander chutney or any dip of your choice. Enjoy these bite sized delights any time you crave for something to munch on.

    Getting Ready:

    Soak ½ cup chickpea.

    Heat a pan, add 1 tbsp oil to it and let it heat up. Add ½ tsp cumin seeds to it. Saute the cumin seeds, reduce the flame, Add 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ inch finely chopped ginger piece, 2 finely chopped green chilies. Roast the spices for a while.

    chana paneer cutletAdd ½ cup soaked chickpea to it.Add ½ tsp garam masala,½ tsp dry mango powder,
    ¼ tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp salt or to taste, Sauté the chickpea while mixing the spices well. Add ¼ cup water to the chickpea,Cook the chickpea till they turn tender. Cover and cook it on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes.

    chana paneer cutletAfter 4 minutes, check the chickpeas. If mashed they are ready. Turn off the flame. Place it to cook then blend the spices with the chickpeas well. Once cool place the chickpea in a mixer jar and finely grind it. When finely ground, put the chickpea spice mixture in a mixing bowl.

    chana paneer cutletGrate the potatoes and paneer separately. Add it to the mixing bowl. Then add ½ tsp salt or to taste ,1 tbsp finely chopped green coriander. Mix all the ingredients well, and prepare dough from it.

    chana paneer cutletLift a little dough, bind it. Flatten it a bit, and give it a round shape. Cutlet is ready, likewise prepare cutlets from the rest of the dough.

    chana paneer cutletHeat a nonstick pan. When sufficiently hot add 2 to 3 tbsp ghee to it.Place the cutlets to fry in the pan. Fry the cutlets on low medium flame. As the cutlets fry from beneath and turn golden brown, Flip them. Flip again and fry until golden brown on the other side too. Turn off the flame and take out the cutlets in a plate.

    Ingredients
    • Soaked Chickpea - ½ cup
    • Paneer - ½ cup (125 gms)
    • Potato - 1 (125 gms) (Boiled & Peeled)
    • Ghee - 2 to 3 tbsp (40 gms)
    • Oil - 1 tbsp
    • Green coriander - 1 tbsp ( finely chopped)
    • Green chili - 2 (finely chopped)
    • Ginger - ½ inch (finely chopped)
    • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
    • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
    • Garam Masala - ½ tsp
    • Dry Mango Powder - ½ tsp
    • Red chili powder - ¼ tsp
    • Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
    Instructions
