    Crispy, salty and crunchy potato wafers or potato chips are an all time favorite and very easy to prepare. These crispy deep fried wafers can be eaten as a snack or appetizer. Potato wafers is a favorite among kids as well as youngsters. You can munch on these wafers anytime. Homemade Potato wafers can be prepared instantly with potatoes that is easily available in every household.

    Here is a Potato Wafers recipe with step by step picture. Enjoy your snack time with this crispy wafers sprinkled with salt and black pepper.

    Directions

    Getting ready:

    Peel the potatoes and soak them in water to prevent them from turning black. Take some water in another bowl and cut the chips into it.

    Aloo chips Making:

    For cutting the chips, use a chips cutter and cut potatoes into fine chips. Prepare chips from all the potatoes and Keep them drenched in water for 15 to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, drain out the chips to dry them completely.

    Lift one potato chip at a time and place it on a cloth so that the excess water is soaked. Then place the chips under the fan to dry them out until the water dries completely. Place them under fan for 15 to 20 minutes to dry out completely. After this use a cloth to clean them well.

    Take enough oil in a wok to deep fry the chips. Bring your hand over the wok and you will feel the heat. Oil is sufficiently heated, drop the chips one by one in the oil.

    Drop as many chips as possible in the wok at once and fry them in medium flame until crispy. Stir the chips at regular intervals and continue frying until they turn crispy. Keep the flame medium while frying the chips.

    When the chips turn crispy, sieve them out using a perforated ladle. Place the chips in a sieve so that excess oil drain back to the wok.

    Now transfer the chips on a sieve placed above the plate so that remaining oil drains out as well in the plate kept below. Likewise fry rest of the chips as well. It takes 5 to 6 minutes for frying chips at once as we have to fry them in medium flame. Turn off the flame now.

    Sprinkle some salt and black pepper powder over the chips and stir to mix the spices well. Crispy and super delicious potato chips are ready and making them is really easy. Let the potato wafers cool down completely and then store them in any air tight container and relish eating for up to 15 to 20 days. Devour eating these chips with a steaming cup of tea or coffee or have them as a light snack.

    • While frying make sure that the temperature of oil is medium and the flame is kept medium-low.
