    Getting ready:

    Wash the potatoes thoroughly with water. Drain out excess water from them. Boil them in pressure cooker until they turn tender. Peel off their skin and mash the potatoes with the back of a spoon.

    Heat a pan with some oil. Splutter cumin seeds into the hot oil. Then add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chopped green chilly, ginger paste and coriander powder to it. Saute for a while. Now add whisked curd into the masala followed by red chilly powder. Mix everything really well. Keep stirring the masala until it turns thick.aloo bharta recipe
    Oil has started floating on the masala. Masala is now cooked aptly. Add salt, garam masala, mashed potatoes and chopped green coriander into it. Mix everything really well. Cook the bharta for 2-3 minutes more.

    • Potatoes – 5 (400 grams)
    • Curd – ½ cup
    • Green coriander – 2 tbsp (chopped)
