Getting ready:

Take almonds in a mixer jar, put the lid on and grind it into fine powder. Peel the green cardamom and crush its seeds along with some sugar into fine powder.amla ladoo recipeMaking:

Take a polythene bag and put the gooseberries into it. Tie it with a loose knot, place the polythene bag inside the microwave and cook the gooseberries for 5 minutes on highest temperature. Check later.

After 5 minutes, gooseberries will turn slightly tender. They are ready to be grated, carefully take them out in a bowl. Allow them to cool down slightly. When the gooseberries cools down slightly, grate them in a bowl using a grater and discard all the seeds.

Now place a pan on flame add grated gooseberries into it along with sugar. Mix it really well, keep stirring constantly and cook them until sugar dissolves completely.amla ladoo recipe

Once the sugar melts completely, cook the mixture until it turns thick in consistency. When the mixture turns thick, add 2 tsp of ghee into it and cook it for 2-3 minutes more. After 2 minutes, mixture will turn thick. To, check, take some mixture in a bowl and let it cool down completely and if it sticks between the fingers that means mixture is ready. Turn off the flame and let it cool down slightly.

When the mixture cools down a bit, transfer it to a bowl and add almond powder, chopped cashews, green cardamom powder and nutmeg powder into it. Stir to mix everything really well then let the mixture cool down.

After a while, mixture will cool down then make ladoos. For this, grease the hand and take small portion of the mixture and roll it out into a ladoo. Keep the size as desired. Suggestions

  • You can add any other dry fruits such as chironji, walnuts or anything else as per taste, skip the dry fruit you don’t like.
  • Cook the sugar and gooseberries by stirring them constantly until the sugar melts completely. Don’t cook it too much otherwise the sugar will turn dark and the taste of the ladoos will get spoiled.
