Getting ready:

Remove the stalks from the green chillies. Wash them thoroughly with water and then pat dry them. Chop some green chillies into bite size pieces and cut few of them longitudinally from the centre. Use a scissor for cutting them nicely and quickly. Place them in a bowl.

Place a pan on flame and pour the oil into it. When oil gets heated, add cumin seeds into it. Once the seed starts spluttering, add turmeric powder, asafoetida and green chillies into it. Saute for a while.

  • Green chillies – 100 grams
  • Turmeric powder – less than ¼ tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1-2 pinches
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Fennel powder – 1tsp
  • Dry mango powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – ¾ tsp or to taste
