Getting ready:

Slice the pistachios and almonds into thin pieces. Peel the green cardamom and crush its seeds into fine powder using mortar pestle.

Cut the bread slices into square or triangular shape as desired.

Take sugar in a vessel followed by ½ cup of water and put the vessel on flame. Let it simmer until the sugar dissolves completely. After that, cook it for 2-3 more minutes. Check later.

Put another pan on flame and pour the milk into it. Let it simmer until the milk starts boiling. Keep stirring at regular intervals by moving the spatula to the bottom of the pan and cook until the milk turns thick in consistency.

Check the consistency of sugar syrup. For this, take few drops of it in a bowl. Stick it between fore-finger and thumb, stretch the fingers apart. A string is appearing between the fingers, sugar syrup is ready. Turn off the flame.

Place another pan on flame and pour the ghee into it. When the ghee melts, put bread pieces into it. Place as many bread pieces as possible into the pan and fry them on medium flame until they turn golden brown in color. After that, transfer them on a plate and likewise fry the rest of the bread pieces as well.

When the bread pieces are fried, take a fried bread piece and drop it into the sugar syrup and let it immersed for 10-12 seconds. Then take it out on a plate. Similarly, dip the rest of the fried pieces into the  sugar syrup. Keep them aside.

Milk has turned thick in consistency, turn off the flame and add 1 tbsp of sugar, green cardamom powder and saffron strands into it. Mix everything really well.

Rabri is now ready. Transfer it to a bowl.

To serve, spread the rabri evenly on the bread slices with the help of a spoon.
