As the name suggests this recipe requires only rice. The process of making rice flour is not at all laborious but soaking the rice and then drying the rice flour do takes little time. Another pro of this recipe is that you can use any kind of rice like small rice, thick rice or broken rice. Because of long shelf life, it can be stored up to 2 to 3 months in an airtight jar. Directions

Getting ready:

1.Wash rice thoroughly and soak it for good 8-10 hours in water.

2.Drain excess water from the rice and spread nicely on a clean cotton cloth. Place it under a ceiling fan and let it dry for ½ -1 hour. Partially dry the rice. Pick a grain and check whether it is dried or not if you don’t feel any water then the rice is ready for grinding.

4. Grind rice by taking small amount at a time in a mixture grinder. Don’t crowd the grinder by putting the whole amount.

5. Pass the ground rice through a fine sieve. Again grind the remaining granules left on the sieve.

6. Take the rice flour out on a big plate and spread it evenly. Now allow it to dry completely under the ceiling fan for a day and keep stirring the flour after every 3-4 hours with the help of a spoon. This way it will dry completely. Rice flour is ready to use.

7. Store the prepared rice flour in an airtight container and use it for 2-3 months.

Suggestions

  • Rice flour can also be dried in thick base wok. Heat the wok and roast the flour till it dries completely.
  • Rice flour should be dried completely otherwise it will ruin the taste of the flour.
